Ednah Emeka is a Smallban Citizen Archivist and also works as a librarian at the Busia Community Library in Busia, Kenya.
Excerpt from a brief Smallbean interview with Ednah:
Smallbean: What is it like to work at the library in Busia?
Ednah: I enjoy working at the library because I am introduced to knowledge and exposure from the books. Though, we face challenges here at the library because people don’t know what it is like to be a volunteer. This can make life at the library very hard.
Smallbean: What have you learned about Busia while working as a Citizen Archivist?
Ednah: I have learned that as an archivist, you need to be knowledgeable and wise. Some people might have information but not be willing to share that information even though it is very valuable. Some people, especially in rural areas, are willing to share their knowledge but expecting something from the Citizen Archivist in return.
